heictojpg is a free browser-based converter that turns iPhone HEIC photos into universally compatible JPG, PNG, or WebP files. It was built around a single idea: conversion should be instant, private, and require nothing from you.

No account. No upload. No file size cap. No conversion limit. No watermarks. Just drop your files, click convert, and download.

How it works

The converter uses libheif, a mature open-source HEIC decoder compiled to WebAssembly. Your browser downloads the decoder once and runs it locally. When you add a HEIC file, it never leaves your device — it's decoded in memory, drawn to an off-screen canvas, and exported in your chosen format. The whole process happens on your CPU, not ours.

Design principles

Privacy by default No image ever touches a server. We couldn't see your photos even if we wanted to.
